Lilja the Label is a sustainable Finnish swimwear brand. Our aim is to create high-quality swimwear both ethically and sustainably. We don’t believe in seasonality and make products that are meant to last both time and use: these are pieces you will love for a long time. Wear them throughout your winter swims and throughout your warmest beach days.
We use only the best recycled, sustainable or natural resources in our production, such as ECONYL® regenerated nylon, REPREVE® recycled plastic bottles and high-quality organic cotton. Built upon the values of slow fashion and the well-being of everyone involved in our product chain, we only work with manufacturers that commit to our values. We believe we can only thrive when the environment around us and the people in our product chain are thriving, and are committed to leading the change that is needed in the fashion world.
All our items are designed here in Helsinki, and manufactured at our ethical family-ran factories. Our items are manufactured in family-ran factories in Guimarães, Portugal and Bali, Indonesia. Within the year 2023, all production will be moved to within the EU.
‘Lilja’ is a Finnish word for lily. Once voted one of the most beautiful words in the Finnish language, ‘Lilja’ and ‘Lily’ simultaneously symbolise both a flower and a feminine first name. Therefore our brand name is the perfect ode to the nature and to the person wearing our items.

Ethical
We partner with a small ethical and family-ran factory in Guimarães, Portugal. The factory employs a total of 30 people.
Sustainable
All our items are made using either recycled, regenerated or organic materials (ECONYL® regenerated nylon, REPREVE®, GOTS organic cotton)
Slow
We take things slow here! Lilja the Label is a slow fashion brand to the core. We produce ethically and in small scale, and will never take shortcuts.
