Cold swimming at The Barö Hotel in the archipelago

In the beginning of February, we traveled to the gorgeous Finnish archipelago to shoot at The Barö Hotel, a luxury archipelago hotel in Inkoo.

We got to enjoy a morning of cold swims in the Baltic Sea combined with time spent in the panorama sauna of The Barö.

The Barö in Inkoo is located approximately an hour drive outside of Helsinki and hosts private cabins overlooking the forest and the sea, together with an amazing restaurant. If you are visiting Helsinki, we warmly recommend you to visit the gorgeous Barösund for an overnight stay at The Barö combined with everything else the area has to offer.

Vivi and Laura were taking turns swimming in the frozen sea alongside our photographer Johanna Rontu.

Even though the sea was still frozen, we could already feel that spring was in the air after a cold and long winter – the ice was slowly melting, some rays of sun peaked through the clouds and we could hear and see the first birds of the spring. We love this time of the year as it still offers the best of winter, but feels new and refreshing. If you have a chance to head out to the nature here in the north at this time of the year, we promise it’ll be worth it!
