We have launched our trash-picking campaign, #liljapicking, to spread awareness and take action. Our seas are in danger, and we as living beings need to recognise our responsibility to take care of the nature surrounding us. We already for example utilise regenerated ocean plastics in our items, but that alone is not enough. That’s why our product packaging has been turned into a paper bag that doubles as a trash-picking bag.
So we challenge you – head to your favourite beach, forest or park and fill your #liljapicking bag with trash. Lilja the Label is donating 1€ for each order placed towards saving the Baltic Sea via the John Nurminen Foundation. When you submit your entry to #liljapicking, we will double our donation. Join the community and see where others have participated. Together we can take concrete action and lead by example.
Our product packaging was already recycled, but now it has been upgraded! Your Lilja the Label order now comes packed in our #liljapicking bag. This brown paper bag doubles as a trash-picking bag and comes with an invitation to join our challenge.
Any trash and any amount counts! We invite to join within your own resources. Maybe you can invite all your friends to join you, or maybe you can pick a few things up while walking the dog. Even the smallest step will take us towards the right direction.
Take a photo of your #liljapicking bag filled up and post it with the campaign tags @liljathelabel and #liljapicking on your Instagram story. Don’t forget to geotag your location so that we can add your entry in our interactive world map! Don’t have social media or have a private profile? You can also DM or email us your entry together with your location.
Note: We can only see tags on public Instagram profiles. If you are private, DM us instead!
For each entry to #liljapicking, we will double our monetary donation to the John Nurminen Foundation. However, we like to think of your participation as the third step that triples the impact. This way, the amount donated will be doubled, and you will take concrete action by removing a bag full of trash from where it doesn’t belong.
Want to take the impact even further? Invite your friends! No purchase needed, they can use any bag to participate alongside you and we will donate for each entry.
We have built an interactive world map where you can see where in the world our community has participated in #liljapicking, and how much trash the community has removed together.
On the world map you can see open each card that shows the first name of the person who completed the challenge, the approximate location, a photo they wanted to send and a fun fact about the Baltic Sea!
Can you find someone from your home town yet?
The Baltic Sea is our local sea here in the north. However, it’s the most polluted sea in the world.
Small and often overlooked, this Baltic Sea is the local coastline for 14 countries and over 85 million people. The Baltic Sea carries waste from population centres, industrial production and agriculture. It is suffering from biodiversity loss, eutrophication, low salinity levels, microplastics and trash.
We have partnered with the John Nurminen Foundation to save our beloved Baltic Sea. 1€ for each order is donated, and the amount is doubled once you submit your entry to #liljapicking.
