If you're in between sizes, you can most likely wear both. Which one is right depends on the fit you like and on the style.
Start with how the fabric behaves
Swimwear fabric loosens up and gets a little softer with wear, and it stretches a bit when wet. A piece that feels snug but comfortable when you first try it on will be right after a few wears. A piece that already feels loose when new will end up too loose.
Then think about the fit you prefer
- Snug fit: stays in place, best for swimming and watersports. Choose the smaller size.
- Softer fit: many prefer this for relaxing and sunbathing. Choose the larger size.
For bottoms, think about where you wear them
If you like your bottoms to sit high above the hip, the smaller size usually works. If you like them lower over the hip bones, you can go for the larger size, even with the same hip measurement.
For tops, think about your cup size
With a fuller bust (cup D and larger), sizing up and adjusting the back gives better support and coverage in most of our tops.
Check what the style does
Some styles have their own rule for in-between sizes. For example, we recommend sizing up in the Drawstring Top and Arc Bottoms, and sizing down in the stretchier Sienna and Gathered fabrics. See How does each style fit?
Still can't decide?
Email your measurements and the style you're looking at to hello@liljathelabel.com and we'll recommend a size. And if the size isn't right after all, you can exchange it. Within the EU, one exchange per order is free: we pay for both the return and the new shipment. Outside the EU, we cover the shipping of the new item. See Can I exchange an item?
