What goes into the price of a Lilja piece?

The price of a Lilja piece comes from the fabric, where and how it's made, and how it's constructed.

What you're paying for

  • Fabric: ECONYL® regenerated nylon, made in Italy from recycled waste such as discarded fishing nets.
  • Production: every piece is made from start to finish at a family-run factory in Guimarães, Portugal.
  • Construction: many styles are double-lined, and most are adjustable (straps, backs, drawstrings, ruched sides), so one piece fits well and keeps fitting as the fabric softens.
  • Taxes and duties: prices include VAT in the EU, and all taxes and import duties for orders to Norway, the UK and the USA. There's nothing extra to pay on delivery.

Cost per swim

A swimsuit that keeps its shape and colour is worn for years. Every product page has a cost-per-swim calculator: set how often you swim and how many years you expect to wear the piece, and it shows what one wear costs.

Good care makes the biggest difference to how long a piece lasts. See How do I care for my swimwear?
